Sergio Martinez is the public and media relations for Sestus Management's Latino
division. Born and raised in South Texas, is the son of Mexican
immigrants,
Martinez
is the youngest of five children who are all fluent and educated in
both the English and Spanish Languages. After earning a bachelors
degree from the
University
of
Texas
in
San Antonio
, Sergio returned to his hometown of
Laredo
to give back to his local community. Always a ravenous fan of
boxing,
Martinez
began to write about the “Sweet Science” for various internet based
websites and hosted two internet based boxing radio shows. Sergio
also appeared on a television boxing show pilot in
San Antonio
,
TX.

Approximately four years
ago,
Martinez
completed an interview with Sestus
Management’s Chief advisor Mike Michael and the rest, as they
say, is history. That one act of serendipity spawned a friendship
which has evolved into a working partnership. Martinez
said, “I never forget that first conversation with Mike (Michael)
as I found him to be a genuine and honest man who had an amazing knowledge
and understanding of boxing. What also impressed me so much was that
Mike, being a British born Greek-Cypriot, had extensive knowledge
and love for Mexican fighters”. Sergio continued, “What
was supposed to have been a fifteen minute interview turned into a six
hour conversation about Miguel Canto,
Ricardo “Finito” Lopez, the Marquez brothers and Salvador
Sanchez.”
