Maxell Taylor... Last Friday in Chicago, super
middleweight Don "Da Bomb" George dismantled Maxell
"General" Taylor. George came out for the eighth round and caught
Taylor with a three-punch combination to the head followed by a right to
the chin that dropped Taylor for the first time in his career. Taylor got up at
the count of eight but was still hurt. The end came in 2:05 of the round as
George pinned Taylor on the ropes, where he rained unanswered shots to the head
and body promoting referee Gino Rodriguez to stop the bout, awarding the fight,
plus the regional title at stake, to George.

An ecstatic Donovan had this to say right after his victory, "This is a
great feeling for me and I'm so happy that I have fulfilled one of my goals
tonight. Winning this [regional] title is an awesome thing for me
and my team, as everyone has worked really hard for me to get here. Taylor
was a real tough guy that knows how to box, but I was the better fighter and i
showed that tonight. This was a fantastic night and this win will always be
special".

Gina Iacovou, George's manager (Cestus CEO) said, "Donovan looked
sensational and I'm very proud of his performance here tonight.... after
tonight we are one step closer to fighting for a world title".
Mike Michael (Cestus Chief Adviser) said, "Donovan beat a very tough,
determined and very capable opponent. Donovan's performance tonight was
electrifying and the way that he beat Taylor showed that he has matured and
belongs at the world class level in boxing".....more

In the co-feature, Don “Da Bomb” George (21-1-1, 18
KOs) rebounded from the only loss of his career with an impressive first round
stoppage of the formerly undefeated knockout artist Cornelius “Da Beast”
White (16-1, 15 KOs) in their scheduled eight round middleweight contest.

The bout was expected to be a well anticipated slug
fest as heavy handed super middleweight Don “Da Bomb” George set out to wage
war over eight rounds with undefeated knockout artist Cornelius “The Beast”
White. George, who looked to rebound from his only loss of his career in his
unsuccessful NABO title challenge against Francisco Sierra, and had faced the
tougher opposition. George owned seventeen knockouts in his 22 fight career for
an impressive knockout percentage of 77%. The undefeated and heavy handed
Cornelius White, appropriately nicknamed The Beast came into this fight with an
even more unbelievable knockout percentage of 94%, having stopped 15 of his 16
opponents inside the distance. In his last bout, he needed only one round to
finish the always game Demetrius Davis. So a war was expected from the opening
bell....more

The scheduled eight-round co-feature pits two of the
biggest punching prospects in the deep super middleweight division boasting some
of the highest percentages of knockouts among active boxers with at least 15
fights – Cornelius “Da Beast” White versus Don “Da Bomb” George.

The 29-year old White (16-0, 15 KOs) is a native of
Houston, Texas and has knocked out 94 percent of his opponents to date. Recently
signed to a promotional deal by Goossen Tutor and TNT Productions, “Da
Beast” stopped Demetrius Davis in the first round in his most recent outing
last month. Chicago’s George (20-1-1, 17 KOs), on
the other hand, has stopped 77 percent of his opposition, with knockouts
accounting for 85 percent of his victories. In his last bout in July, George
sustained an upset loss, his first, by technical decision to Francisco Sierra in
a battle for the vacant WBO NABO Super Middleweight title. Prior to that, George
won a barnburner over Osumanu Adama via 8-round unanimous decision on ShoBox. “Besides
having a world-class solid boxing event for the SHOWTIME viewers, it’s always
exciting bringing events like this to the East Coast fans especially at
Bally’s Atlantic City,” promoter Dan Goossen exclaimed. “Rico Ramos
continues to take on all comers and Valdez is certainly another barometer to
where Rico stands with the best in the division. His willingness to fight anyone
combined with his lighting hand and foot speed will make Ramos a fan favorite if
he keeps improving the way he has.”....more

Cestus fighter “Da’Bomb”
George Destroys Williams!
Last Friday night at the UIC Pavilion in
Chicago , Illinois , fight fans were treated to another great night of boxing as
Chicago’s native son, Cestus Management Fighter Donovan George, scored another
jaw dropping win. “DA BOMB” (19-0-0 w/17 Kos ) completely dominated and
destroyed Phil “The Drill” Williams knocking him out in 2:43 of the 3rd
round. In the 3 rounds that the fight lasted George showed that he is starting
to evolve into a formidable fighter as his speed, boxing aptitude and shocking
power all came together as he executed the big punching Williams with brutal
efficiency. “DA BOMB’s” sharp jab, power combination’s and balanced
footwork were just too much for “The Drill” to handle.

Gina Iacovou, Cestus Management’s CEO, said,
“This really is a big win for Don as (Phil) Williams has fought very good
opposition in his career and stopped most of his opponents. This is the type of
performance that let us know that Donovan is ready to take the next step in his
boxing career.”... for

Phil Williams
CHICAGO – Donovan George is a good looking and
likeable – if somewhat brash – 25-year-old kid who does back flips
after he wins. He really buys into his nickname, “Da Bomb,” but
in all fairness, he’s an undefeated knockout artist who improves with
every fight.
Surveying the boxing ring in his street clothes several hours before
tonight’s match, the lanky fighter who stands about an even six foot
tall says of his opponent, Phil “The Drill” Williams,
“He’s made for me. He said that he’d knock me out in the
second round. (With me) at 18 and oh, he’s not going to be the one to do
it!” He smiles. Leaning in closer, he says, “He’s slow.
He’s going to walk into something when he comes forward (to knock me
out).”...for

Cestus Management’s Super-Middleweight

being on the verge of becoming a world-class contender with a four round savage
annihilation of Canadian Jason Naugler, handing this tough and very experienced
fighter his first loss byway of stoppage. Coming into the contest, Naugler
previously had twenty-nine fights and has gone the distance in very creditable
performances against Chad Dawson,
Jean Paul Mendy, Anthony Thompson, Jesse Brinkley, Samuel Miller and Nicholas
Poulard.

The fight was the main event of a card promoted by Leon Margules and Dominic
Pesoli at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois. George (18-0-1 w/16kos)
showed impressive boxing skills and a snappy jab as he constantly peppered the
experienced Naugler face and body. Naugler, attempting to overcome
speed, power, and youth with experience, came out fast at the openinig bell and
to everybody’s surprise tried to box by jabing and moving and throwing fast
combinations. Nauglers attempt to box George was to no avail, as George was out

combination’s to both the head and body....more
